Professional Development Bursary

Recipients of the Women in Local Government Professional Development Bursary 2009

The quality of applications for the 2009 bursary was outstanding and the members of the Women in Local Government Strategy Group were very impressed with each applicant’s commitment to increasing their skills to benefit their councils and clients, their drive to improve their own skills sets and share their knowledge with colleagues and their passion for what they do.

This year’s recipients are:

Ellanna Habermann
Ellanna Habermann - Recipient of the 2009 Women in Local Government bursaryEllanna (Lana) is the Business Services Coordinator at the Cook Shire Council and will use the bursary to undertake a Master of Professional Accounting through the University of Southern Queensland. Lana has enrolled in the 12 month part-time program and is also currently enrolled in a Master of Urban and Regional Planning. She also intends to commence study to become a Certified Practicing Accounting in January 2011.

Anne Pleash
Anna Pleash - Recipient of the 2009 Women in Local Government bursary Anne is the Manager of Community Services at the Carpentaria Shire Council. Anne plans to use the bursary to start a Master of Business Administration through Curtin University, studying part-time and expecting to complete the program in 2012.
