Reimbursement of Expenses and Provision of Facilities for Councillors - Guidelines for CouncilsAs per the Local Government Act 1993, the Tribunal is precluded from considering the reimbursement of expenses or the provision of facilities to Councillors in its determination. In accordance with other provisions, the Act issued guides to assist local governments in developing an Expenses Reimbursement Policy, which is to provide for expenses and facilities, pursuant to section 250AR(2) of the Local Government Act 1993. Making section 250AL submissionsUnder section 250AL of the Local Government Act 1993, a local government can make a submission to the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal to seek a variation in the amount of remuneration that has been determined for a councillor.
