The Queensland Government has resolved that the proposed Bridges industrial estate near Yandina will not proceed.

The Sunshine Coast Enterprise Needs Investigation and Bridges Investigation Project report identifies numerous hurdles to the proposed estate.

The report identifies environmental impacts, danger of flooding and problems with the physical features of the site which made development undesirable.

The report identifies other potential sites, besides the Bridges estate, that can now be considered by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

The Sunshine Coast Enterprise Needs Investigation and Bridges Investigation Project final report summarises the findings of three distinct studies:

• Sunshine Coast Enterprise Needs Investigation—to determine the future demand for enterprise land on the Sunshine Coast to 2026
• Bridges Investigation Project—to determine the suitability of the Bridges Investigation Area for accommodating future enterprise
• Sunshine Coast Enterprise Sites Study—to identify and compare alternative enterprise sites in the Sunshine Coast area
