The overriding intent of the South East Queensland (SEQ) Regional Plan is to ensure the region grows in a sustainable way. Sustainability indicators are used to monitor changes in economic, environmental and social factors.

The region’s sustainability indicators, as identified and assessed in the SEQ State of Region Sustainability Indicators Baseline Review 2006 ( 1.5 MB), are monitored and reported on.

The State of Region Report Baseline Report 2006 ( 3.2 MB) was the first report on the sustainability indicators identified in the review.

This baseline report will provide a benchmark for assessing trends in sustainability, which will be described in a 2008 State of Region Report.

These State of Region reports - showing how economically, environmentally and socially sustainable the region is - will be prepared every five years, prior to the review of the SEQ Regional Plan.
