South East Queensland Regional Plan review

The South East Queensland (SEQ) Regional Plan 2005–2026 will shortly undergo a formal review, in accordance with the Integrated Planning Act 1997.

Where necessary, the review will look at refining or modifying the SEQ Regional Plan's strategic directions, principles and policies - to reflect any new policies or changes in the region.

The review will also extend the population and housing projections to 2031 and consider the capacity of the Urban Footprint to accommodate projected growth.

Having regard to a number of emerging regional growth management issues – continued high population growth, housing affordability, transport congestion and climate change – the state government proposes to undertake the SEQ Regional Plan review by mid-2009.

The state government has approved the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the review, which are available for downloading below.

These TOR set out the process and timetable for the review for the SEQ Regional Plan and preparation of the updated Regional Plan. The TOR also identify the major issues to be considered as part of the review.
