Under the Integrated Planning Act 1997 (IPA), local governments are required to prepare a planning scheme. Under the Act, the department is required to keep a copy of these planning schemes for inspection.

Planning schemes are the main planning documents used to manage future growth and development throughout Queensland. They seek to achieve:

• ecological sustainability through coordinated planning
• management of development and its effects on the environment.

Those councils who are yet to make their plans available electronically are identified by an asterisk (*).

Hard copies of all plans are available for viewing at the relevant local council office or at our public office at 63 George Street, Brisbane.
