Growth areas

As well as classifying land into one of three land categories, the regional plan also nominates 15 general areas which may be considered for longer term development, subject to a range of factors. These identified growth areas are located outside but generally close to the Urban Footprint and could play a role in meeting much longer term needs of the region, generally beyond the life of the current plan.

This identified growth areas fact sheet (PDF icon 371 KB) provides further information on identified growth areas and their locations.
