The Bromelton Off-stream Storage involved the construction of an 8,000 megalitre storage adjacent to the Logan River in the vicinity of Bromelton.
Overview
The Bromelton Off-stream Storage involved the construction of an 8,000 megalitre storage adjacent to the Logan River near Bromelton.
The Bromelton Off-stream Storage will improve the reliability of the Logan River Water Supply Scheme in drought conditions, accommodate growing demand from urban and industrial development in the Beaudesert area, and contribute to the South East Queensland Water Grid.
Harvesting of water into the off-stream storage from the Logan River will provide an additional yield of 5,000 megalitres per year.
Queensland Water Infrastructure Pty Ltd (QWI) conducted the works under delegation from the Coordinator-General. The project was delivered by the Water Infrastructure Solutions Alliance.
The Bromelton Off-stream Storage, pipeline and pumping station on the Logan River were completed on target in mid 2008 and commenced storing water pumped from the Logan River in July 2008.
