| National public private partnership guidelines |

Partnerships between the public and private sectors are a well-recognised option for the delivery of infrastructure in Australia. In November 2008, the Council of Australia Governments (COAG) released the National Public Private Partnership Policy and Guidelines. The guidelines provide a clear and consistent framework enabling both sectors to work together more effectively when delivering projects across the nation under a public private partnership model. The guidelines are available for download from Infrastructure Australia. They have been endorsed for use by all state and territory governments and by the Commonwealth Government. Most states will have minor departures from the guidelines to allow for regional differences in how they are applied. Queensland is currently finalising these departures for release in late 2009.
