SPP 1/07 Housing and Residential Development (including Guideline) 1.0

SPP 2/07 Protection of Extractive Resources and Guideline

State Planning Policy - identifies those extractive resources of State or regional significance where extractive industry development is appropriate in principle, and aims to protect those resources from developments that might prevent or severely constrain current or future extraction when the need for utilisation of the resource arises.

State and Regional Coastal Management Plans

Under the Coastal Protection and Management Act 1995 the State and Regional Coastal Management Plans and subsequent Regional Coastal Management Plans have the effect of State Planning Policies for the purpose of making and amending planning schemes and assessing and deciding development applications. There are various commencement dates for the regional coastal management plans.

State and Regional Coastal Management Plans - Guidelines

The Environmental Protection Agency, in collaboration with relevant state government agencies and consultation with representative coastal local governments and the Coastal Protection Advisory Committee, has prepared two guidelines to help implement the state coastal management plan and regional coastal management plans in local government planning schemes and development assessment. The guidelines address coastal management outcomes, principles and policies.

SPP 2/92 Planning for Aerodromes and other Aeronautical Facilities 1.0  This State Planing Policy set out broad principles for protecting airports and associated aeronautical facilities from encroachment by incompatible developments in the interests of maintaining operational integrity and community safety. SPP 2/92 was repealed and ceased to have effect on 2/08/02. It was replaced by SPP 1/02 Development in the Vicinity of Certain Airports and Aviation Facilities.

SPP 1/97 Conservation of Koalas in the Koala Coast 1.0 This State Planing Policy set out broad principles for the protection of koala habitat in the Koala Coast from inappropriate development. SPP 1/97 was repealed and ceased to have effect on 31/01/05 when it was replaced by SPP 1/05: Conservation of Koalas in SE Queensland and subsequently the SEQ Regional Plan.

SPP 1/05: Conservation of Koalas in South East Queensland. 1.0 This State Planning Policy came into effect on 01/02/05. It was superseded by the South East Queensland Regional Plan and was consequently repealed on 08/07/05. The Regional Plan is supported by the Nature Conservation (Koala) Conservation Plan 2006 and Management Program 2006 - 2016 Copies of the Regional Plan can be obtained from the department. Copies of the Interim Guideline can be obtained from the Environmental Protection Agency.
