Sponsorship

The Department of Infrastructure and Planning will occasionally call for sponsorship investments in special projects or initiatives of the department. Such sponsorship opportunities will be published on the department website.

The Department of Infrastructure and Planning occasionally enters into one-off sponsorships. The department limits its incoming and outgoing sponsorships to those which:

  • complement and contribute to our core business
  • demonstrate value for money against a genuine competitive procurement process
  • are appropriate to departmental and government expenditure and protocol
  • can be evaluated effectively
  • are a strategic and targeted communications strategy.

In line with the Queensland Government whole-of-government sponsorship policy we do not sponsor individuals, political or religious organisations, or activities that contravene our departmental policies.

Only whole-of-department sponsorships are to be entered into.

The department's sponsorship commitments are made well in advance. Requests need to be received six months ahead of the activity or event so that appropriate consideration can be given. Should you wish to make a sponsorship proposal to the department please provide information on:

  • the aims of your event or project
  • the benefits to our department
  • how you will measure success in achieving those aims
  • the amount of money or 'in kind' (non-financial) support you are requesting
  • information on other sponsors, particularly if they are Queensland Government departments
  • organisational details including whether you hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and are GST-registered.

All proposals will be reviewed to assess suitability, feasibility and resource implications.

For further information on incoming or outgoing sponsorship contact the department and submit your request in writing.
