The PlanningSTATS Data Viewer is free software for viewing statistical planning information from the Planning Information and Forecasting Unit. The data viewer allows you to choose categories from the range of available datasets and view the data for a selected time period down to locality detail level. The software comes with a free sample data module. Current data modules are available on a subscription basis.

Software features

The PlanningSTATS Data Viewer is a tool for extracting the data you need for your area of interest. The software features an easy to use interface and a comprehensive help system. Some of the key components of the software include a data selection wizard, data axis transpose functionality and a data copy tool.

The data axis transpose system enables information to be viewed by any combination of region, category and time period so data can be displayed in a format that best suits your needs. The data copy button allows selected data to be copied into other software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Data module contents

A series of modules cover a range of demographic and residential land development statistics.  The first module to be made available will be the Residential Land Development Module. This module includes the following categories at the locality level:

• broadhectare land
• lot approvals
• lot sealings
• lot registrations
• mumber of vacant land sales
• vacant land sale prices.

These categories can be queried from 1994 onwards with some categories containing information prior to this date.
