Planning Group

The Planning Group drives the integration of land use planning functions within the department. The group plays a key role in leading land use and infrastructure planning to meet Queensland’s economic and social growth needs.

The group develops and implements regional plans in close liaison with state agencies, local governments and other stakeholders and ensures achievement of key government outcomes by providing responsive and consistent planning services.

Infrastructure and Economic Development Group

The Infrastructure and Economic Development Group applies the Coordinator-General’s powers to facilitate sustainable economic developments and essential infrastructure across the state.

The group administers the significant project process, manages certain government development projects, provides advice and assistance to major project proponents and identifies major economic infrastructure requirements for the state.

The group provides balanced and sustainable growth management strategies taking into account economic development, infrastructure, community and environmental needs and concerns.

Infrastructure Delivery Group

The Infrastructure Delivery Group is responsible for the implementation of critical infrastructure projects and land management, including land acquisition. This includes the Airport Link project, South East Queensland Water Grid and Water Pipe Procurement.

The group is also responsible for overseeing the delivery of infrastructure projects via special purpose vehicles.

Strategy and Governance Group

The Strategy and Governance Group leads policy development to support the department’s contribution to whole-of-government and national infrastructure initiatives.

The group influences national and guides state-level infrastructure and planning policy directions matching government priorities with infrastructure and land use planning, infrastructure development, and infrastructure delivery activities of the department.

The group oversees the state’s Project Assurance and Value for Money Frameworks, and provides corporate and organisational capability services to assist the department deliver on its infrastructure and planning priorities.
