The Department of Infrastructure and Planning plays a key role in strategies and initiatives to ensure the State's physical infrastructure can support the strengthening, diversification and internationalisation of the Queensland economy.

The Department of Infrastructure and Planning works with other agencies, local government and the private sector to achieve industrial land planning acquisition and development objectives.

Key functions include:

  • development and implementation of major industrial land and infrastructure strategies
  • planning and co-ordination of infrastructure provision
  • economic infrastructure development
  • identification and acquisition of infrastructure corridors.
