National infrastructure audit

On 30 June, 2008, the Queensland Government provided the Infrastructure Australia Council and the Federal Government with its initial submission for the National Infrastructure Audit. This included a sectoral analysis report outlining economic development and economic and population growth, in line with Infrastructure Australia's request that all states provide such a report. This analysis is attached.

The Queensland Government submission also included an outline of the following three key infrastructure themes the Queensland Government wished Infrastructure Australia to consider:

  • infrastructure needed for urban growth, to combat urban congestion and its costs
  • infrastructure needed to support major industrial centres, to boost economic production
  • infrastructure needed to open up new industries, for new economic production.

Further detail on these themes, and a list of 54 key projects statewide that reflect these themes, is included in the executive report (below).
