Education and training

Queensland’s unparalleled population and economic growth is increasing the demand for education and training infrastructure and access to a skilled workforce. The Department of Infrastructure and Planning is leading the planning and delivery of new educational facilities including primary and secondary schools, and upgrading existing schools and TAFE facilities. Examples of innovative educational infrastructure is the Southbank Institute of Technology, which was funded through a public private partnership, and the development of smart state schools for the fast-growing Gold Coast and Sunshine coast regions.

The department is committed to providing infrastructure to enable Queenslanders to engage in lifelong education, and training and infrastructure to build a strong arts and cultural sector that enriches the lives of Queenslanders.
