The Integrated Planning Act 1997 (IPA) was replaced by the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 (SPA) as a result of extensive consultation and planning reform. The Integrated Planning Act 1997 provided the framework for Queensland’s planning and development assessment system by balancing community well-being, economic development, and protection of the natural environment.
