Now in its second edition, it provides helpful hints and practical examples on how to prepare corporate plans - which provide an essential framework for councils to deliver services to local people. Plan and Deliver has been distributed to all councils across Queensland, including Aboriginal and Islander councils. Plan and Deliver is set up to cater for the corporate planning needs of all Queensland councils, regardless of size. Larger councils may simply be seeking improvement ideas, while small to medium sized councils may require more practical and ‘hands on’ support. Accordingly, the guide contains a range of diagrams, checklists and best practice approaches that can be readily adopted by any council - it is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. What’s new?In the second edition, Plan and Deliver has been updated to include changes to the Local Government Finance Standards (LGFS) 2005, to ensure consistency in the issues addressed and terminology used by councils in their corporate plans. It also reflects the need for a coordinated approach with IPA planning schemes and other key local government frameworks. Importantly, Plan and Deliver clarifies councils’ legislative obligations while promoting best practice and continuous improvement. |
